Apps won't update on iPad

Is it a first gen iPad? Do you have enough memory? I have a second gen iPod touch and it kind of has the same problem. Try deleting one and reinstalling it.

Try downloading any new app, paid or free. After it is done installing, try the updates again.

I think thousands of us are having the same problem. The only solution I have found is to sync with the iBook (or the like) and manually transfer the updated app to the iPad. This is of course a long work-around. What is Apple waiting for to address this problem?

Has anyone found a solution yet? I'm having the same problem as well.

did you find a solution? I have the same issue and tried all of the above but still don't get the updates finishing... they all start but "hang" and cannot use apps.

I bought a new iPad in 2012. Everything was fine, but now two apps won't update. Message: "Unable to download application. Could not be downloaded at this time." I have 30GB free space. Affects Sketchpad Pro and Adobe Touch. The biggest problem is that I can't use the apps!!!!! I'm okay with using an older version but this update cycle has locked me out of using them at all. Yes, my iTunes is up-to-date and synched to the correct time zone.

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Music or Movies. Finish off the download and your update will start.
