Q: Everytime I adjust the volume in logic express always snaps back no matter what I do!?

Everytime I adjust the volume in logic express it always snaps back, no matter what I do....I just want to change the volume so it stays where I put it....any suggestions?

imac, 1.25 ghz, 512 ram, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

A:

No CC7 messages in eventlist. I think I figured it out. In Hyper Editor I see the volume changes sent from the midi device. (The white colomns seen in normal view I can select one section at a time and delete them! Now my fader stays where i want it to, and I can add automation to my hearts content.

Thanx for your help too, as i have now bypassed m-audio presets (in Settings –>midi-->input filter - check all the boxes)

Could it be that there's (volume) automation data on the track?

No, it's off. Even when I adjust the automation, it jumps back in the mixer

Hi

You probably have MIDI CC7 events within regions on that track.

Examine every region on the offending track using the Event List. Select and delete any MIDI CC7 messages.

no.....I'm using an M-Audio keystation and a new track. I set the volume to 0db and after a few seconds of playing it snaps back to -9.1.......

Hi

If it is doing it on an empty track, the MAudio must be sending out CC7 messages (on it's own). Check any controllers /faders on the keyboard, and if possible, reassign to something other than CC7 or CC10
