Why can't I connect my Samsung Blu-Ray player to airport express?

My AirPort Express is 802.11n and my Samsung Blu-Ray player is model BD-D5700. Samsung finds my network and even says I am connected to the internet but can't seem to "use" the connection. I'm having no other internet connections in my house (I use a MacBook and printer wirelessly with no issues). I contacted my IP provider and they found no problems and said I need to contact Samsung (good luck with that!). I did notice on the Samsung that I only have 2 signal bars but I can't put my computer and my WII in the same spot without issues. I'm about to throw it all out the window! Any suggestions?

Well I got it connected but still not 100% pleased. The message I got was "Internet is connected successfully. If you have a problem using any Internet services, contact your Internet service provider." It turns out this is a GOOD thing! From there, if you have a strong internet signal (check the signal bars) you hit the HUB button on your remote and you have to set it up. It will load all of the internet options. When completed, your screen should reflect a netflix icon. I got assistance from Samsung first by going to their website and instant messaging for assistance. Then, they gave me a ticket # and I called the 800# to get second level assistance. (Recommend skipping the IM - tech was slow slow slow). But what finally worked for me was that I took the Samsung into the room where my router is located. Hooked it to a TV in that room and voila! It worked. Once I set it up there, I brought it back into the living room to the big TV and no more setup was required. I believe that other than the fact that set up of this blu-ray player is far from intuitive, my wi-fi signal wasn't strong enough. BUT I could sit my laptop in the same exact spot and have a strong signal. I have my WII in the same exact spot and have a strong signal. But the Samsung doesn't seem to be able to get the same signal strength. Soooo, I also moved my router up higher (on top of a cabinet instead of bottom shelf) and signal is better. Streaming movies from netflix through my WII still works far better than through the Samsung. Also, guess what? My whole reason for buying the Samsung was so I could stream movies from Amazon.com (I already had netflix streaming w/ my WII). No can do. Amazon.com is not set up to register Samsung blu-ray (but can register Samsung internet ready TV).

I have he BD-C6500. It was highly rated for playback quality of DVDs and Bluray discs and I have been very happy with that aspect. However, the wireless connectivity is terrible. Firmware updates appear to have made things worse. For the last month or more, I have had to reset my airport, reset the samsung player, or both to get a connection.

Based on these experiences, I would not purchase a Samsung player to use wirelessly. If you only want to use the Samsung player to play discs then you may enjoy it. However, if you also wanted a wirless streaming device, then I recommend you return the Samsung player if you still can and try a different brand.
