I am having trouble with my java virtual machine. I cant open eclipse in mac because it says failed to create java virtual machine. I went to system/library/framework and the javavm.framework file isn't there! Please help

DL and install the 10.6.8 v1.1 COMBO update and then the Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 6 . That should fix things.
That did not work at all. Nothing happened. the java virtual machine file is not in framerwork.
Now I have a new problem. I reinstalled snow leopard and I am stuck at the software update. First i deleted the plist files because it said "can't connect to update server" now I started the software update again and it is so slow. Please help.
So, if I read this correctly, OS 10.6.1 and eclipse working. Update to 10.6.8 and Java update 6 and eclipse doesn't work, even though the 1.6.0.jdk exists in /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/. If so, contact the eclipse developer. I don't use eclipse or any other 3rd-party java app, so I'm out of ideas.
What's not working? Can't connect to the server, can't install the updates, or did all of that and the JVM's still mucked up?

If you look in /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/ you should find 1.6.0.jdk. If not, then all I can suggest is to reinstall SL from its install disc, followed by Software Update.
More than likely overloaded Apple servers. I suggest manually DLing the required updates and installing them. 10.6.8 v1.1 COMBO and Jave Update 6.

The combo update and java 6 did not work. I am on v6.1 but eclipse works. I just want to go to 6.8 now
Now there is a problem with update it is so slow I need help with update forget jvm.
