iOS 5.0.1 Weather App is buggy

The photo really says it all.

See the date at the bottom that says "Updated 12/28/11"

Now notice how the first day on the list is "Saturday"

The problem is that 12/28/11, today, is Wednesday!

Some Notes:

That is Manhattan, IL in 60442, but the bug occurs no matter what the actual location.

It does not matter that it's currently on the "Local Weather" pane. I have several cities and I've seen this issue occur on one or more panes at any given time.

No matter what day is today, this bug always shows Saturday up top, the same current temperature of 25 F as well as same forecast for remaining days. It's like a static image since the data within is always the same. I first saw this happen last Thursday with those same forecasts & temperatures. I especially remember the current conditions of "Sunny & 25 F" since it was actually raining and 45 F.

It may occur on the "Local Weather" pane while in 60442 but at the same time the actual pane for the same city will be correct.

It does not matter if I disable "Local Weather", this problem just randomly pops up on another city's pane.

Force quitting/restarting the Weather app does not fix it.

Adding/Deleting cities and/or turning Local Weather on/off seems to fix it, but only temporarily. This annoying problem will come back soon.

Running iOS 5.0.1 on a iPod Touch 32 GB Third Gen (Late 2009) and syncing with latest version of iTunes on 10.6.8

Just yesterday, iPod was wiped and restored for a different issue, but obviously it did not fix this Weather app bug.

That is the same EXACT SAME problem that I have. The only difference is the city: Orlando, and whenever this happens (happens to me occasionally, I don't know about you), it always shows the same temperature, "cloudy, 72 degrees" (same as you). And it is shown on Saturday, just like you mentioned on your post (today is Wednesday!). However, I don't use local weather. I just input my city manually.

I happened to do the same thing as you did by restoring (but not for the weather purpose; for another problem I had) but nothing has changed. This is probably just a bug that a couple of users are experiencing. Note my picture: it happened just as I was typing this post.....12/28/11 6:30 PM showing Saturday-this Thursday (weather is way off by now!). Your post was very helpful.User uploaded file

Obviously you're a dev...thanks for posting that bug report. Hopefully we see this gone in the next update! I see that you have a few other cities there. Do they give wrong weather info also?

PS - What app do you develop for?

The problem occurs consistently on one/two random panes at a time. It's always moving around from pane to pane. But always on whatever pane that's up when the app is first opened and then sometimes concurrently with a second random pane.

I was one of the original OS X pre/alpha testers back around 2000. Now I just program for the web in jQuery/JavaScript, Ajax, Perl, PHP, XHTML, CSS... I'm an engineer; whatever I need, I learn it.

Beneath Apple? Not sure about that... this could be only affecting a small number of users under very specific conditions. Or it could be something weird going on with the Yahoo! weather data service. I reported it as a bug via the Apple Developer's console. I encourage everyone to report this at one of the two links below...

But yes, you are correct, mine is always showing "Sunny & 25 degrees" even if it's the middle of the night, raining and 50.

It's Tuesday afternoon, January 3, 2012 in New York as I am writing this. My 3:14pm Weather app update showed it to be Saturday. My 3:20pm update now correctly shows it to be Tuesday. I'd say the problem has not yet vanished.

Instead of complaining to me for posting my observed results, do something constructive and report it to Apple at one of the two links I gave you in my previous reply.

Unfortunately, this bug hasn't gone away one my device, either. Hopefully all of our feedback will be helpful.... So the weather app on yours seems to receive correct weather data every time you go on (hasn't once gave you wrong info)?

Mate, I lodged a report last week using the appropriate link to which you directed me (I am not a developer). I wasn't complaining to you, but rather simply posting my observed results.
