Lexmark X4650 seen but not printing (suggestions please)

Hello

This printer seems to laden with issues with regards to connecting and printing as I have found in other discussions. For us, it is the inability of the printer to complete the printing process. Tested the printer with my Acer laptop and it printed just fine, ditto my Vista desktop, but with my daughter's iMAC nada nil. After struggling to have the printer actually be recognized by her iMAC (OS X Lion 10.7.2) it finally sees the printer and even acknowledge this when I checked updates manually for which it downloaded an update specific to the printer in question. Still will not print, despite the printer being acknowledged by the MAC OS. Any suggestions?

Hi, please carefully follow the stepsbelow to successfully install your Lexmark printer on your Mac Lion.

Situation A: If you have a brand new Macwith Lion:

1. Run the Lexmark X4600 Printer Driver installer.
2. Add the printer queue via Print & Fax.Follow the instructions in this article: How to Manually Add a USB PrintQueue, Network Print Queue and Fax Queue on Mac OS X Systems
3. Run the Apple Software Update and get theLexmark 2.6 Drivers installed.

Situation B: If your Mac got Lion via Apple'sSoftware Update:

1. Run the Repair Disk Permissions on yourcomputer.
2. Run the Cleanup Tool from the Lexmark website.Follow the instructions in this article: Removing Lexmark Files on yourMac 10.7 Computer
3. And do the steps from Situation A above.

Then try to print your document to verify thatthe printer is properly installed on your Mac Lion.

My parents have the same printer and they are on Snow Lepeord, that I can fix!

But I have been tearing my hair out with the installation in Lion. Thanks for your fix it worked, I also had to go into 'Printer Setup' and select the software used and then it finally worked. A huge thank you to you for sharing your knowledge with the community. I have happy children too that can now print there homework, all good. 🙂
