Using an Interactive PDF on iPad

You seem confused.

Developers make apps to put into the App store for others to purchase.

If you create a pdf, put it on your computer/iPad. You don't put it in the App store.

Hopefully I understand your question: You want to show people your portfolio on your own iPad (you don't want to mass distribute it). If that is so, you can create a tablet-ready .folio file and upload it to your acrobat.com account (you can create a free one) then download the Adobe Content Viewer app on your iPad and you can then view your .folio file on your iPad (you would sign in to the Adobe Content Viewer app using your Acrobat.com user name and passord). You should also be able to send it to a few people to look at also (not sure of the limit), but they will need an acrobat.com account and will need to download the Adobe Content Viewer App.

You can also create an interactive PDF, however the iPad PDF viewer options are rather sad and lame. GoodReader is the best app by far (I find that my buttons show up and work in this viewer). iBooks and Adobe Reader are hit or miss (Adobe Reader app is really the worst PDF reader app out of all the iPad PDF reader options).

Why should you not have to pay for it? The developer who spent months coding it should have no reward? Do you expect to buy a book for free that is the source of income for the author? You expect to go to the theatre for free? Nobody needs income from their efforts?

Only two people use my car. It should have been free.

If you put something in the App store, then yes, it will cost you.

You are not creating an App for iOS. You are making a pdf.

This seemed like you were complaining that Adobe Digital Publishing Suite costs money to purchase.

It seemed this way because we could not understand what publishing in the App store had anything to do with you creating a pdf. you wanted on your iPad.

We have created an interactive PDF, but haven't been able to get any readers to show the animation created in Adobe InDesign. You are right about GoodReader. It at least lets us have working buttons on our presentation. But it still isn't letting us have any animated objects. Has anyone else found a way to get animated pdfs to work on personal iPads without using Adobe Digital Publishing?

We are interested in purchasing that some day, but right now it seems pricey for just using on our company iPad only.
