Sep 12, 2013 11:15 AM in response to Mark Alan Thomasby Don Trammell,When you're digging a hole, it is best to stop digging... I am only doing this because I am bored. The moment I find somethig better to do than continuing this clinic on you, I'll go do it, but please continue to provide me with material...

Go talk to One Big Wookie and have him teach you how make discussion points that have value and are worth discussing... You have brought nothing to the party and seem to be an uninvited guest that showed up and dropped you cup cake in the punch bowl...

Sep 12, 2013 11:27 AM in response to Don Trammellby SASanderson,Don, once I memorized a bunch of key commands in LR, it became much easier to use. (It's now a little like playing the piano).
Perhaps instead of continuing to debate the pros and cons of each app we should all send email to Tim Cook asking him to develop and release a new version of Aperture to continue (and confirm) Apple's support for Pro customers generally and photographers in particular. Anyone have his email address? That might help to get us what we looking for, a new version of Aperture. I have hope; after all Apple didn't kill the MacPro, so maybe it still has a commitment to people who need more than iPhoto on an iMac…fingers crossed…

Sep 12, 2013 11:31 AM in response to SASandersonby Don Trammell,Best post of this thread... I agree 100%... Once I saw the Mac Pro, I am getting one, I had hoped it would be loaded with Aperture (whatever) for the pro consumers... Eventhough I use LR5, I can easily go back to Aperture...

Sep 12, 2013 11:40 AM in response to Don Trammellby One Big Wookie,Time will tell. Phil Shiller did indicate that FCPX would be updated to utilize the new Mac Pro's hardware. The update of Logic Pro X caught everyone (nicely) by surprise.
FWIW, I'm using both Lr and Aperture. Lr for those difficult images, and anythong shot at 28mm or less. I use Aperture for almost all other images, and for creating books and slideshows.

Sep 12, 2013 11:44 AM in response to One Big Wookieby Don Trammell,I am doing similar. I use LR5 right now for the heavy lifting and to be honest, because of the switch from Aperture to LR, I have gone on an economy of frames shot. Reason being, if Aperture X hits the streets, I will not have a very large LR library to convert back. I went to Norway to shoot the auroras and came away with little over 400 shots after 8 days of shooting... I think in the back of my mind, I am still hoping against hope that Apple comes through...

In my opinion, as a previous Aperture user, I find that the current LR5 simply outperforms Aperture on almost every level but then again that is my opinion...
