I cannot sync digital copies of movies to my ipad

I have been adding digital copies of movies (from Blu-Ray purchases) to my iTunes library for a long while now. Over the Xmas holidays, I got and added 5 more movies to my library but iTunes is saying that I cannot sync them with my iPad because I am not authorized for them on my computer.

The movies are - Hangover 2, Scarface, Super 8, X-Men: First Class, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I have tried de-authorizing my computer and re-authorizing it.

I have the most recent iTunes (10.5.2) and the latest iPad software (5.0.1)

When I check the info in the individual movies, the Purchased By and Account Name details match as I would expect.

Is there something I am missing? Nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Some additional thoughts to consider

- these digital copies were not transferred directly from a DVD disc, they were codes that had to be redeemed and then were downloaded from the respective studio sites (i.e. universal, sony,etc.). Most of my old digital downloads were direct from disc that was in the Blu-Ray case.

- I live in Canada so perhaps that is somehow tied with the previous thought.

I just got a fix to a similar issue:

New macmini and ipad2 worked perfectly for a week or so but suddenly any movies i downloaded had no thumbnail, would not play in itunes and would not sync to ipad. When I tried to sync it said that it was not compatible even though the movies were directly downloaded from itunes. When I tried to play the movies in itunes I got an error (-4) saying that quicktime is not compatible with the file. Genius and I spent almost an hour on the phone with no resolve after resets, re-installs, etc... Finally I found this link

This was the only fix. For some reason my movies were trying to play in 64bit when they were on 32bit files. I followed the dirctions on the link above and changed itunes to "open in 32bit" and BINGO. Fixed. The genuis had never heard of this issue and didn't know it was possible.

if there is no thumbnail for the movie and it won't sync or play, change itunes to "open in 32bit" using the above directions and you too will be back in action.

BTW this was after two weeks of email support telling me that they had no answer for my issue and they, "hope it will resolve in a future update" I asked if the recommended that i return all of my new mac purchases and I was told "i don't know but I am unable to help you further." I was very close to walking back into apple with all of my purchases and dropping them on the counter. Good luck
