The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved. What do I do exactly?
I have Lion, and want to install windows 7.

You need to defragment the free space. The easiest and least expensive way to do that is to create a bootable clone with CCC or SuperDuper. Boot from the clone, reformat the disk and restore the clone.

Get http://www.virtualbox.org/
Or clone backup your system twice using one of the tools here*:
http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
And when you are done, I can ask a moderator to move your thread to the Boot Camp forum.
Virtualbox does virtualization of WIndows without having to partition your drive. Its only weakness is some GPU based software may run slower than Boot Camp.
Im not the best when it comes to this, but i backed it up to an external hardrive using time machine. Then i heard im supposed to boot the computer using my external hardrive. Then i go to disk utility and wipe my Macintosh HD, but i dont know how to do this haha and I dont know if this is the correct way

You can't boot from Time Machine. You must make a clone with CCC or SuperDuper as Allan Eckert advised. When doing this you format the external hdd as Mac OS Extended (journaled) with GUID partition map. Then the clone (which is an identical twin of the original) is booted and back cloned to the original after erasing it. I suggest googling HDD clone for an education on this concept.
I am having the same issue as Wes, but I am on a Mountain Lion. Is this "cloning" you speak of free?
Time Machine is not a clone and I have no idea (but doubt it) whether you can boot from it.
Make a Clone.
