Can I tether my ipad 2's 3g connection to my ipod touch 4th gen?

Hi there! my family and I recently got an ipad 2 with a 3g connection and a wifi ipod touch 4th gen for christmas. So we're going to a realtives house for new years and they have no internet. I was wondering is it possible to be able to tether your ipad 2's 3g connection (it's a verizon) to a 32gb ipod touch 4th gen? and if so, could you please walk me through how to do it.

Please when giving possible ways to do it, don't suggest jailbreaking. My family doesn't like jailbreaking as it voids warranties.

Thanks,
