Retrievw recording date from iMovie videos which were restored from a mistakenly reformatted drive.

I recently accidentally reformatted a hard drive with a bunch of iMovie videos on it.

I have managed to retrieve the data on the disc but, of course, have lost the file names which means I am unable to reassemble the videos chronologically. I am wondering whether there is a way to retrieve recording date from the videos themselves - ie is there metadata contained within the .mov files and is there a way to capture it.
