Safari Pop-up

I have just started to get a pop-up in Safari which says: WebProcess wants to sign using key "Apple ID Authentication 2011-12-26 17:26:47 GMT - 08:00 in your keychain. Do you want to allow access to this item? What does this mean? Should I allow?

nabster83 and harley22, I had the same issue (even with my own server). The problem arises when the remote webpage requires a client certificate – which is rare. Additionally, this makes only sense, if the webpage requires the client certificate optionally, which is even rarer. Finally, you need to have only a single client certificate in your Apple Keychain (for example the Apple ID one). Then Apple Keychain asks you whether to sign.

My solution:

  1. opened Apple Keychain
  2. searched for idms, one object of the type certificate appeared
  3. export that certificate (back it up for the furture)
  4. deleted that certificate

Because that Apple certificate is going to come back when you use iChat for example, this is not a long-term solution. Therefore, I filled a bug report (radar://14426316). Until this is resolved, the only solution I see, is to use another Internet browser.

BDAqua, good idea, because Little Snitch gives a similar warning message. However, this one here is about signing rather than connecting. Here it is a message from Apple Keychain rather than Little Snitch.

Your second link points to an answer created by an robot, because it explains how to disable HTML pop-up windows. The error message mentioned there is actually coming from Little Snitch.

Or stated differently: Both of your links do not relate to this issue here.
