notes disappear

I am having the same problem. I use notes extensively but recently I have noticed that notes just disappear for no reason. I just lost an important note as a result. I use icloud so that I can always have my notes on my ipad, iPhone and Mac.

This needs to get fixed!!

I'm in same boat. Hoping to get back what I lost.

But I'm not optimistic about it and I wonder how Apple got away with this for so long and how Apple got so big when junk like this occurs.

I am really annoyed that Apple puts this app out there but does not support it. It seems the way to learn things is by losing them and trying to recover. I have spent hours with Apple help get conflicting info and wound up deleting my itunes back up (with my notes) because CS said it would save multiple copies of itunes (like time machine) but that is not the ccase on my imac (os x).

I have had random notes disappear lately. My MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone both have iCloud sync for notes turned on. No idea what's happening.

Do you have/use Yahoo?

I had the same problem recently and found my notes had magically moved to my yahoo account. They were all safe in the online version of my yahoo email. However the same folder does not appear to be accessible from my iPhone.

This solved my problem - it's yahoo!

I don't sync with an email account so that's not my problem unfortunately.

this problem began when they integrated icloud to the notes.

it's a very annoying issue. i lost too many important notes. i don't rely on it now.

I have taken part in this discussion before and solved the crisis by using the back-up copy on iTunes in my computer.

But ALSO –and don't ask me how this happened! I cannot remember I changed anything in the instructions – by the fact that as soon as I have made a new notation in my iPhone, it appears as an email in my inbox in my computer! A good and easy backup!

I must try to find out how this happened! Can it have been a change in the new updates I have installed?

I have an iPhone5; my Notes app is not sync'd to any accounts and I've lost an important note. Strange, all of my other notes are still there (and I edit them from time to time) but this is the third time I've lost this particular note and this time a month's worth of mileage data has been lost. I don't trust it anymore - I won't use it again.

I have this problem too. My apple iD is the same as my iCloud I'd but it is not an iCloud email. Notes has been working for years and now it simply deletes my notes after a few hours. I see them long enough to watch them disappear off of my iPhone and IPad. Luckily I'm using Yahoo and my notes are in my notes folder of my email account. However Yahoo says this is a one way sync. Notes created in Yahoo and stored in the notes folder do NOT sync with the iOS devices. Notes created on the iOS device sync with other iOS devices but then some time later disappear from the IOS DEVICES. ANY HELP OR IDEAS.??

I also found that notes show in a Yahoo folder called notes. I am not sure how this happens. Someone told me that "pointing" iPhone notes to Gmail account , then Notes stay on iPhone? Any truth to that? If yes, how does one set notes?

You are my new favoritist person on the planet!!!!! Mine went to Yahoo as well safe and sound! (Well, as safe and sound as Yahoo can be...) Now I just need to figure out why my yahoo folders don't align with the cursor when I am trying to go into them. The curson has to be 5-6 spaces below the folder for it to grey highlight and open. Any ideas lol!!

I heard to go into accounts on the Notes page and only save things to on My IPhone
