Antivirus for MacBook Pro - Have Windows 7 via Bootcamp as well

Hi

Anyone know any good antivirus softwares for my MacBook Pro?

I have just recently installed Windows 7 64-bit via Bootcamp and really need an Antivirus.

I use my Mac OS X side majority of the time. I only installed Windows 7 to have MS Access 2010 once I have bought it. I will also use Windows 7 to browse the Internet.

I only know of Norton and Kaspersky.

I want an antivirus that is easy to manage and works with Mac and Windows.

Hope someone can help.

On the Mac I highly recommend that you don't install any AV software at all. AV software only causes problems on OS X. It does nothing worthwhile at all.

On the Windows side you need it. Either of those sound like good solutions for Windows.

You need separate anti virus for Windows and OSx. In Windows all you need is Microsoft Security Essentials. It is available from Microsoft for free.

You don't need anti virus for your OSx side. If you really feel the need for OSx anti virus there are recommendations in this forum if you do a search.

Just my $.02, based upon personal experience and lots of reading here and elsewhere.

Don't bother with anti-virus on the mac side. Could be a lot more trouble than it's worth (and it's worth very little given there are essentially no mac viruses).

Load up the anti-virus on the windows side, of course.

FWIW and IMHO, Norton Antivirus is bloated software and will slow down your Windows.

Microsoft provides for free an excellent antivirus program. Microsoft Security Essentials. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

Consider also the free anti-virus programs for Windows if you want to save money, Avast and AVG seem to be the most popular and are also very good. I agree with the other posters, don't bother with anti-virus for OS X - not necessary.
