I have an iPhone 4 and I am using the earphones that I got with my phone but my left earphone has stopped working. It's weird because when I use my earphones to make a phone call they both work but when I play music it stops working, even when I put my phone into my music dock only the right speaker works.
Has any1 else had this problem?!? & if so how did you solve it?
Listening to music with ONE earphone isn't fun!! 😢

Plug your earphones into another device to make sure they are working properly, phone calls don't count as they are not broadcast in stereo.
If headphones are working OK, do a re-set on the iPhone, if that doesn't fix it take your iPhone in for repair.
Good Luck
One more thing, make sure you don't have a exterior case that is keeping the earphones or dock from plugging in all the way.

I had the same issue with iphone 4s , don't know if same problem , but i did this:
go to settings , then scroll down to General, then scroll down to Accessibility , then scroll down to where it says L______________R , you will see a circle and blue line, drag this circle as it controls sound for left and right, it should sit in the middle of L and R , if it sits all the way on L or R it affects the sound coming out of the L or R earphones ,

I'm expieriancing the same issue! Did you end up having to repair your iPhone4?
I have purchased new headset/earphones (those work fine), reset my phone & made sure that the accessibility function is set equally between left/right side…and I'm still expierencing the problem.

Very helpful,, on pevious discussion ive read, says i should restore my phone,, tried it,, them to my suprise,, my left earbud/phone is still not working,,, thanks ive found your suggestion,,, i tot it's fo volume that's the reason why i drag it all the way to the right,,,hahahaha
Go to settings>general>assecibility>hearing>turn off the mono

OMG thank you!! I was like great now I have to get my good earhones replaced
I'm tried everything mentioned here on my iPhone 4S and still have this problem. Mono is off and Left and Right are balanced but still the volume coming out of my left earbud is veeeeery low.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I tred three pairs of earphones and it's the same way.
I think this is related to iOS 7.
