I have an ATIVA Flip-Top 4gb Flash Drive. It does not show up on my brand new, entry-level 2011 iMac (12,1). It IS, however, recognized, on my brother's brand new Lenovo IdeaPad laptop. How can I make this drive function on my computer?

Mmm, I already looked into doing that, but it is not even showing up in the USB device tree (System Profiler) or in Disk Utility, sorry for not being so clear in regards to that, but once it shows up, I know what to do, thanks!
Try restarting your iMac, then if that doesn't fix the problem reset the SMC.

1. Shut down the computer.
2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
3. Wait fifteen seconds.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Tried that, no luck, could there be some means of reformatting it to a neutral state on the PC?
Go with MS-DOS / FAT-32
As matter of fact I have several MS-DOS / FAT-32 formatted drives, a WD Passport and 3 Flash Drives that all work fine in both 10.6 and 10.7.
