Facetime and imessage - neither work when i try to sign in, they both say ''unable to connect, check your connection'' but my internet is fine etc. What do i do?

when i try to sign in, they both say ''unable to connect, check your connection'' but my internet is fine because i can Download apps and use Safari. What do i do?
p.s. i already restored it from my itunes (but then i backed it up instantly with everything)

iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1

Go to Settings>wifi and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8

If your actually asking what your old DNS number is no one knows but you because originally it comes with every wifi connection and if you would like to know than you could look at one of your family members that are connected to the same network as you yes before you ask I am a technical apple support specialist and were here to hep with anything you are clueless about.
