Rebuilding after Erase & Install Snow Leopard.
Due to some problems with a software I've used for years and some other things (someone said I might have a 'haxie' from Unsanity that is causing the problem), I've just done an Erase and Install of Snow Leoplard on my MacBook Pro. I have been advised to re install software from discs and not form Time Machine as that would only put the problem back in.
Problem 1: Where do I go on my back up to find my Keychain accounts and passwords...are they saved in a file somewhere?
Problem 2: I configured my Mail just following the instructions, now that I cannot receive my mail I find that I should have unticked 'Take account online' and waited as instead of Port 110 I am supposed to be using Port 995 for Gmail. I've changed the port number within my General Prefs in Mail but nothing is coming through.
Could someone direct me to any information that will help me after doing an erase and install. I'm excited about the rebuild as I know I had a lot of junk cluttering my my 'baby'.
I haven't even thought about where I go to rebuild my contacts, iPhoto and things I probably haven't even thought of yet! There must be a file in my Time Machine for that.
Thank you. Carolyn
