Does the ipod touch have a pedometer?

I was curious if the ipod touch had a pedometer.. I know you can buy the extra nike sensor thing on the side and the nike shoes and whatever else.. but I was wondering if they had a pedometer all by itself or an app for it..?

iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1

What are the shoes about? Do you need them too.. That is kind of lame... T.T All I want from an ipod is music and a pedometer... at the moment I have a nano generation 5. But the bettery life is almost dead forever... and the new nano's are really small and it kind of bothers me...

Do you like the ipod touch? Is that what you have? Have you found it useful? And would you reccomend the 8GB or the 64GB?

- You do not need the special shoes. You just have to secure the sensor to the shoe. You can bage the sensor and attached it to the shelace.

- I have the 32 GB 4G. I thin 8 GB is too small capacity, only 6.4 GB is available to the user. I thing the 32 GB is a good size.

You need to purchase the sensor:

Nike + iPod Sensor

$19.00

There is no pedometer built into it, no. However! There is a free application which can be activated in the settings called Nike+ which essentially is all you need for personal work outs: has a pedometer built in that. It's free and easy to activate.
