connecting older emac (wirelessly) to airport extreme?

Hi everyone, i recently picked up an older emac g4 700mb. I just got this past week a few wireless airport cards (that i know are the right ones for this computer). I installed the card, turned on computer and saw the "airport" bars on the top right. I opened the airport, it seems to have full bar strength...i went to try to connect it to the network i have (both reg or guest network) and it doesn't want to connect..it says it has trouble connecting (conn. failed) to either networks. I turned the gues one to a WEP connection and it still didn't work...am i doing something wrong? need some help pls...

thanks

Boy, I don't have one of those AEs, but it must be in there somewhere, I've read a year or so ago here on this forum that a couple of people said that was the solution, I think I even asked for complete steps to do it but got no reply.

Guessing from using my old Saucer Base Station, (which doesn't have the n band), that the most likely place would be Airport>Wireless, maybe Wireless Options there, just not sure.
