Can't hear anything but a hollow sound when I make a call with my iPhone 4s

Making a succesful call with my iPhone 4s - is like picking the right numbers in a game of Lotto.

About every 2nd time I want to call someone from my iPhone 4s (ios 5.01) I cant hear a thing but this hoolow-like sound (pretty much like the sound of talking into a bucket). The reciever of my call can hera me with no worries (but my frustration) - then I need to do a reboot (restart home/top at the same time... takes about 1 minutte).

I mean really... anyone with a fix or heard of this before?

Restore as New (make a full backup first) if its still there you need a repair.

I had the **exact** same issue with a 4S purchased in India. It was so frustrating when your phone can't reliably make a phone call...

Took it in, and walked out with a new handset. Touch-wood the new one seems to be ok!!

fyi: the apple guys did a restore etc. - but none of that helped. Looks like some of these handsets do have a hardware issue.
