How can I move a downloaded file to the desktop.
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Just drag it from wherever it is now located to your Desktop.

As Kappy said, just move it from wherever it is now to the Desktop. But you can also avoid that step by changing the location of Downloads to your Desktop via Safari Preferences->General.
