Hi all, just upgraded my phone last week, no problems, put it on lock earlier, went to pick it up and its completly dead, wont turn on (had a full battery at the time of going off) my pc wont acknowledge that its plugged in either so seems to me as if it is completly dead, i hope apple will be able to sort this out for me. really really poor .

What do you mean you put it to sleep (locked the screen) and went to go pick it up?
You locked your iPhone and left it at home, or you put it in a locker? I can't understand what you really mean.
When you say you connected it and nothing happened, it could be stuck in a possible loop. If so, Try holding down both the home and power buttons, and see if you can get a response from it.

Seeing as how it is brand new, why should you even mess around with it just take it back to Apple and ask them to fix it.

Do two things:
1. Charge it for at least an hour using the wall power cord. Do not use the Mac to charge it.
2. Do a reset. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the phone resets. Ignore the red slider if you see it. It may take 10 seconds of holding both buttons down to acomplish this.
Do as Steve Huetteman says, except, when you do the Reset, keep on the Wall Charger. Also this dead iPhone Reset often takes up to 20 seconds, so keep holding those buttons.
Had the same problem with my new 4s. Got it to reboot with the sleep/wake and power button. Now is this normal ??? or should I take the phone back.????
