Hi Greg, you may find the following helpful:
Open the "Settings" app then press "General". Then proceed to "Network" and ensure that "Cellular Data" is toggled on. Try navigating to a website in Safari now. If this didn't work try going to "General" then "Reset". You will see a series of six options; select "Reset Network Settings". Try to visit a website once more. If you were unable to load the website try restarting the phone. If all else fails try bringing the phone to a genius bar at an Apple retail store for a diagnostic test.

Called Verizon. First person stated I needed to sync with iTunes to get it to work.... I wasn't convinced but tried it. Didn't work! Called back. Was sent to iPhone support. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Now works just fine....Thanks for the reply roaminggnome....Dead on MattV Thanks.
