Recently set up Apple TV and it picks up ITunes fine also Vimeo etc under interenet but when selecting YouTube it just shows a spinning symbol and nothing seems to connect. Login shows up okay but nothing will play in log in. Am I missing something in set up? Any solutions?

I got the apple tv for Xmas and I had YouTube and Netflix issues after I updated the software. When you update the software, do it as instructed below Because 4.4.4, the newest software ***** like all of apple's other new softwares. This has solved everyone else's "Internet streaming" issues:

I just read a suggestions on fixing the issue that worked for me. I guess it's been established that somehow the 4.4.4 update broke some of Netflix's functionality which is causing the issue we are seeing. If you roll back to 4.4.2, the issue is gone!!!
Here's how I did it:
1. Download the IPSW software update version 4.4.2 on http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=970
2. Connect your Apple TV directly to your computer using a MicroUSB cable.
3. Launch iTunes, and iTunes should immediately detect a connected Apple TV.
4. While holding the option key, click on Restore, and it will prompt you to select an update file. Browse to where you downloaded the 4.4.2 software and select it.
5. Boom....your Apple TV will be reverted back to 4.4.2 and the issues should go away.
I don't get the error message anymore. Hope that helps!!!
Hi Zeb- no don't use Netflix. The Apple TV is straight out of the box and set up ok on everything else but wont show YouTube. I'll try the fix you have suggested and will see if it works. Thanks.
It'd be much easier to go aged and update the software normally in settings first, if you still have trouble, then the post above may be helpful
