Ok, so I got a PUK code... where do I enter this?

If the iPhone isn't asking you for it, you don't enter it anywhere. Most people will never need their PUK (Personal Unblocking Key).

On the iPhone, you have the option of locking your SIM card with a 4 digit PIN which you choose. This prevents the SIM from being used in another phone unless you know the PIN. If you choose to lock your SIM, you will need to enter the SIM code every time you turn the iPhone off and then back on (all the way off, not when you wake it from sleep mode).

If you lock the SIM card with a PIN and then enter it incorrectly 3 times, the SIM becomes blocked (basically, the cell network's computers think that someone has stolen your SIM and is trying to use it without your permission, so they block it).

To unblock the SIM, the phone will ask you for your 8 digit PUK.
