. . .
So i'd like to move my iTunes, iPhoto, files, etc to a new user on my iMac and then delete the old user account.
That's not simple or easy, unfortunately. See Transferring files from one User Account to another for some suggestions.
It's Microsoft Office: mac 2011. But that being said, as I mentioned in my post, I already spoke with Microsoft and they couldn't figure out the issue under my current user account. But office works just fine under a new user on my iMac. So at this point i'm not trying to solve any microsoft issues, i'm trying to figure out how to transfer itunes, iphoto, etc over to a new user. Microsoft won't be of much help with that.
If you copy all your user files to a new account, you will have exactly the same problems in the new account. The simplest solution would be to delete all your Microsoft Office settings files and start fresh. I don't use Office so I can't tell you where those files are. You should be able to find that out either from the documentation, from MS tech support, or from its user forums.
Those files are in your Documents folder in Microsoft User Data.
Try moving that folder to your desktop, delete these two files from your user/Library/Preferences folder:
Start Word, and see if that fixes it.
If you use Outlook, that data is stored inside that folder. We can move it back in if this fixes it.
If that doesn't help, what are some of the error messages you are getting?
I moved the Microsoft User Data folder to the desktop and deleted the two files you mentioned and then opened Word but it didn't fix it. I get all sorts of things that pop up in Word:
-A window that says Microsoft Visual Basic at the top and below it says "This Command will stop debugger"
-I get a box that says "Compile error: method or data member not found
-I get a big window that at the top says Normal.dotm-ThisDocument (code) and then has all this in the window:
Private Sub Document_Open()
