Apr 19, 2012 6:59 AM in response to ilygorby Doc Martin,re problems with non functioning or innacurate GPS on iPhone
I have had this problem with my 3GS and had tried all the software resets and fixes.
Having read another post on this forum I opened my phone ( see Ifixit.com) and pressed on connector 6 (which is labelled as such).
Even though this did not appear to be loose it has completely fixed the problem ( which had rendered Satnav etc completely useless)
I have see other reports of the problem resolving spontaneously, after banging the phone and after changing other components and I imagine that this lead tends to come loose when the phone is knocked about giving no or an intermittent connection with the GPS aerial.
This seems a more plausible cause than OS problems. Which should affect all phones equally
I hope this helps other users

Mar 20, 2016 12:42 PM in response to ilygorby sonmezfromsausalito,Hello ;
I have an iPhone 6 that I bought from USA when I was in exchange program. My navigation stopped working . It does not lock on me. It stops at same place that I started and it becomes grey. I do not know why I did not bought an apple care for this device although I used to. I went to the apple store in Istanbul and they wanted me to pay 1100 Turkish lira (350-400$) in order to get a replace. It is not fair. I was planning to buy iPhone 7 in October 2016. So could you please find me a logical solution. One more thing is that my warranty is expired in the October of 2015 but Apple retail store in Istanbul says, they are not able to fix that device because it came from USA.
I also tried to restore from iTunes and set as a new iPhone and same thing happened.
iOS : 9.2.1 (13D20)
IMEI of this device: 35 206506 104011 6

Aug 23, 2016 3:53 PM in response to ilygorby hjonpark,Try this. It worked for me: SETTINGS>PRIVACY>LOCATION SERVICES>SHARE MY LOCATION>make sure "Share My Location is toggled to ON position. If you find it to be in OFF position, then there's your problem
Doing this fixed my GPS problem. People who tried to help but couldn't: 1]Apple technical support over phone (two different agents); 2] Genius Bar reps (3 different "geniuses" at 3 different Apple Stores). They recommended the same old strategies: cold reboot of the phone, "Reset All Settings", "Erase All Content and Settings", "Reset Network Settings". None of these worked
