Weirdly, videos that used to play back correctly on my iPad now do not play back correctly. Its like the pause button has been touched.
This is on websites where they are correctly encoded for streaming on an iPad.
They used to work.
Now they preload and you can scrub through them. They just won't play back continuously..
These same videos play back perfectly on my iPhone.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

If you are using 3rd party Apps to play your video, reinstall it again.

I have a strange feeling you're trying to play Flash video.
Have you tried using SkyFire Web Browser?
No I am trying to view quicktime movies that are encoded as H264.
They should play back fine but they just go into pause.
Cant figure out why.

For example, the videos on Lynda.com will not play.
They load then lock into pause mode.
What is the deal?
Having exactly the same problem. Went to the Apple Store last week to have them reformat my iPad and install iOS 5.0.1. That evening when I tried to play the tutotials from Lynda.com, same thing as what you have experienced, loads but does not play.
Also, my Mp4 videos which used to play just fine on the old iOS, now gets a DoNotPlay symbol over the movie screen.
Any help appreciated.
Yes I did find a solution.
With the iPad connected to my computer, in iTunes, I synched the iPad.
Then told iTunes to do a Restore on the iPad.
It went through the process and the problem was fixed.
The iPad was restored from my last back up.
Problem solved.

Perfect! Took a little time, but now everything (movies) work just fine.

How do you " tell" iTunes to "restore on the iPad"
Within iTunes on the main computer you are syncing your iPad with.
Its one of the first windows within the interface in iTunes.
Make sure you have your device selected first.
Oh, this is easy!!! I have had this problem before. All you have to do is respring your device by holding the power button until it says "slide to power off".
