Stumped on import blue-screen

I'm stumped. I've tried the GarageBand fix, the Audio MIDI fix, the Zap-Pram reboot, and I can't get iMovie to see my import. Here is my setup that I have been using for months, and all of a sudden it stopped working: mini-Mac running Tiger 10.4, 1gig Ram, Firewire connection to Canopus analog-to-digital converter. I hooked my converter up to my iMac and it works fine, so I know it's converting video. iMovie on my mini-Mac does not recognize video import, only a blue-screen. Any other possible remedies that I can try? Thanks.

Hi Dan:

I guess you might try re-setting the firewire port on the mini:

1. Unplug any FireWire device from the mini-mac.
2. Shut the mini-mac down.
3. Unplug the mini-mac from power for 3-5 minutes.
4. Plug the power back in and turn on the computer.
5. Now plug the Canopus in to see if it is recognized.

Brilliant! It worked! It's great to know that the ports on the computer can be reset using this method. Resetting the Firewire port is exactly what I was looking to do.
