How to watch Ineligible music videos when iTunes Match on?

I've run iTunes Match on my entire music collection on iTunes on my mac and a large number of music videos are ineligible - this isn't a surptise to me as they aren't from the iTunes Music store.

However on my iPhone, when iTunes Match is set to "ON" (and Show All Music is OFF) I can't figure out any way to transfer these ineligible videos to the iPhone.

- a playlist containing the videos can't be synced to the iPhone as the playlist is not eligible for iCloud

- on iTunes, when I select the iPhone under devices, then the "Music" tab, I can't manually select the videos to sync with the iPhone

Does iTunes Match actually mean that it is not possible to watch *any* ineligible music videos on your iPhone? That is, it isn't possible to bypass iTunes match and manually sync content from the local iTunes to the iPhone?

One way around this would be to change the Media type from Music Video to Film or TV show as iTunes allows you to locally sync movies and TV shows when using iTunes match.

However I really can't be bothered with this so have switched iTunes Match off as the hassles it causes outweigh any benefits.

Apple also refuse to refund money.

The irony is that Steve Jobs was reported to have a huge collection of Bob Dylan bootlegs dating back to the 60s... and I'm sure a lot of these would be deemed ineligible. I can only assume that he never tested this on iTunes Match.

I didn't expect Apple to refund my money for cancelling the service and hidden in the depths of the iTunes Match Ts & Cs they say that they won't provide refunds (although it would be interesting to see if these stand up against some countries' consumer protection laws)

As it is now, my biggest issue with iTunes Match is that it stops you transferring some existing content from your computer to your iPhone. This prevents me listening and watching to things that I want to listen and watch so I have turned off iTunes Match until Apple resolve this. And if they don't, I've already turned off "renew automatically" for a years' time!

I did the same thing with relabeling the music videos but it is a mess and shouldn't be that way. Funny you mention bootlegs as I have 300+ Grateful Dead bootlegs that are being uploaded to Match. All Apple Lossless so they end up being converted prior to upload. A long process that hass been started and stopped several times over the past week. Funniest thing is so far two tracks got labeled ineligible duplicates. Granted the bootlegs have a lot of the same songs but they are never even close to being exactly the same. Anyway, just one more exampled of Apple's matching algorithm being flawed.

An update - I persisted with Apple Support, provided the relevant "fit for purpose" sections of UK consumer law and pointed out it doesn't say anywhere in the iTunes Match Terms and Conditions that you will be unable to sync existing content if iTunes Match finds it ineligible. The service is now cancelled and I got a refund. Result!

I'll maybe try it again in a year after the bugs have been ironed out.
