You have downloaded and installed a pirated app. Remove the pirated app and the issue will go away. The pirated app is an app normally sold in the MAS that you have downloaded from another source that has been cracked by the pirates with the MAS receipt from the app reporting needing an update, using the account showing up on your Mac.

All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac.

Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF);

http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/

This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.

When i download and search the file, it shows me all my programs, but the Angry Birds program isn't in this list. It isn't either on my purchased list in the Appstore....

It just shows me there is an update... Please help... I can't either find anything related to angry birds on my mac. I just got it a few days and when i first logged in to the appstore, it says there was an update.

I have the same problem but I understand your instructions and do not have a _MASReceipt folder in mine. I have removed App Store and installed it fresh from a 10.6.8 update file.

When App Store is launched, it searches forever then notifies me that an update is ready but with someone else's Apple ID. I am able to log into my account but I can not make any purchases or downloads.

I used your FIND ANY FILE program and it located a _MASReceipt under the FACETIME app. I removed the facetime app and all the files associated with it. FIND ANY FILE now does not locate any _MASReceipt.

But the Appstore is still showing this other ID in updates.
