MSN Messenger tools says my mic (built-in) is working fine, but no one can hear me when I use Messenger A/V. Any suggestions?

Hi.

My wife has boot-camp installed on her MacBook Pro and se likes to use MSN Messenger A/V chat. Her video is okay but no one can hear her. I have tested the microphone under the MsN tools and it is working but still, the best I have been able to accomplishis that people say it sounds like a chipmunk and is undecipherable. Any suggestions on how to get the mic working?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Well after doing a quick search all I could find was some 4 and 5 year old posts.


The only thing I can suggest is to try the Microsft support site or maybe re-installing Messenger. Do you have any other programs the mic works on or is it just Messenger not working.


She has used the Apple Software Update in Windows right?

Worst case scenario would be to extract and reinstall those drivers from the Boot Camp 3.4 download manually.(or 3.2 for XP)


Maybe do a Yahoo/Google search and see what comes up.
