Online backup for eMac? And what about Skype?

I recently had a bad crash. Had to do a clean install of OS X 10.4.11. For some reason Carbonite won't serve the Mac community. . Anyone know of a good Mac alternative? Also I lost Skype. Same question. What version of Skype will work with this old eMac?

And as far as online backup I really don't understand that wish, unless...

You have 20 MB/Sec Fiber Optic upload speed

You'r enot aware that a Firewire Drive will cost likely less than a couple of months of unlimited backup.

& there are free apps to backup or clone, which will leave you able to continue with your work within a minute or two...

I'm mostly with BDAqua on the online backup thing. I have several hundred GB of files. At 1Mbps do you know how long an inital backup would take, or even the weekly backup of maybe 8 GB of changed files I do? I can see online being handy in a few situations, but as long as you have an organized backup scenario at home (e.g., have a second backup off-site like in a drawer at work), you're better off with that. You could look into a hybrid backup with a bootable clone drive at home and an online smaller number of truly critical files that rarely change.
