Anyone know how to delete albums that were synced from my computer?
I have deleted them before, so know it's possible, but for some reason, since the iOS5 upgrade, it's been made nigh on impossible. What am I doing wrong? I've followed everyone's advice in the support groups, but it's just not happening for me.....

You can on;y update your albums by using itunes on your computer.
To remove images, you would basically unsync them from the device when it is plugged into iTunes.
All control over photo albums is done with iTunes, save for some rearranging. It makes sense since many of us synch pretty frequently.
If you have iOS 5: Music app > More (at bottom) > Albums > slide finger accoss album > select Delete.

Duh. I thought he meant photo albums. 😕
Your guess is as good as mine as to what she really meant.... I went by her statement that she was able to do it before, and there's never been a way to delete synced photo albums on the phone, though she said "photo" mon the tags!
I meant a photo album - apologies for the confusion :D
I synced an album from my laptop to my iPhone and now can't delete that PHOTO album from my iPhone.
As I said, I have deleted an extra album from my phone when it was iOS4, but since the update, I can't work it out.
All discussions I've previously viewed are outdated and say to uncheck the boxes, but I've not been given that option in iTunes. I can replace the photo album but not seem to delete it. In fact, the album has been added twice to the phone, and I don't know how! :D
In computer's iTunes, with your iPhone connected and selected, click the Photos tab (top right) de-selected the Album you want deleted and sync.
I did try that, but for some reason it's not bringing the albums up?
Totally confused because that's how I did it last time....
Very frustrating.
In iPhone Photos app, tap Albums (bottom left) where are the photos you want deleted?
Are they in Camera Roll or Photo Stream or Photo Library?
They are in a photo library and a self titled album that just added itself along with the photo library. They are the exact same photo album......
It's crazy that you can't just delete them like in a normal photo album.

Did it the old fashioned way, which is how most of you told me to do it anyway, and it finally worked. I don't understand why it's not been working, but hey ho! 😀

Photos>select album>revert>apply. Simples but didn't want to work this morning.

did all your photos from you camera roll delete also ? because the only ones i want deleted is the albums i synced from my laptop? help please
I am having the same problem. I do not understand the solution. Did you do it using your computer or just the phone? After I select the photo album that I want to delete, how do I "revert" and then "apply"? This is incredibly frustrating! Please help!
On your iPhone, click on the Photos icon. Your albums will open.
Click "Done" in the upper righthand corner.
The "Edit" button will now appear in the upper righthand corner.
Click "Edit"
A little red circle with a horizontal white line appears to the left of the albums that you can delete. Click the circle, and then the Delete button to the right of the album.
