iTunes correct Video format?

I am facing a problem with iTunes... i would like to add a Video to my iPhone. I converted my video in a lot of formats (mp4, m4v...) but every time iTunes says my iPhone can't reproduce my video... so i tried to add the video in iTunes library, when i am drag&dropping my file the "Film" tab becomes "hover" but when i relase nothing happens... i also tried File-Import File in Library but this neither works... i'm running iTunes 10.5.2 on Windows 7 and i have an iPhone 4 wit iOS 5.0.1 installed...

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1
