I have a simple document that is 106kb. When I create an alias to the file, the alias is 133kb. Why would the alias file be larger than the orginal file when the alias file is simply a redirect to the original file?

Good question. I have a 36 KB jpg that I just created an alias for that is 416 K.
And another 21 K alias that comes to 416 K.
It seems the size for an alias has grown because of the nature of the link that Lion uses.
I'm fuzzy on this though and need to look for more info.
