In Numbers, how do i multiply a cell (value) by a number? In excel, i would insert the formula =SUM(B2*12), where the cell is B2 and 12 is the number to multiply it by

In Numbers, how do i multiply a cell (value) by a number? In excel, i would insert the formula =SUM(B2*12), where the cell is B2 and 12 is the number to multiply it by. this does not seem to work in Numbers.

Even in Excel, it looks like the SUM is not needed. =B2*12 will give same result.


Double-tap a cell and a keyboard will show.

On the bar above the keyboard, tap the =

On the table, tap cell B2 to enter =B2 into the formula

On the left-side of the keyboard, find the key with the x on it and tap it to make the formula =B2x

On the keyboard, type 12 to make formula =B2x12

On the bar above the keyboard, tap the green check on the right-side to commit the formula.


If you want to edit the formula again, just simply double-tap that cell again.


Also, if you really want the SUM, then after tapping the =, you'll see a key on the right-side of the keyboard with the word "functions" on it. Tap that to find the SUM.
