iPad is not downloading music, podcast or video, iTunes U

My iPad 2 is failing the download at the end of the download after buying music in the store or downloading from iTunes U. Translated in english it says: "Download failed, <xxx> it's not possible to download momentarily." But this is always the same, i have music in my iTunes library on my mac and it won't sync. The same for podcasts, video and iTunes U. Books and apps are ok. So I have still an empty Music and Video app since upgrade to iOs 5. I am on the newest iOs 5.0.1 and newest iTunes. My iPhone 4S is ok with syncing and downloading.

Hey Linda,


I have the same problem like you on my iPhone 5.


I can purchase songs at iTunes but it is not possible to download them. It says "tap on screen to try again", but after tapping, the same problem occurs.


We've tried different things:

Resetting the iPhone was not successful. We also tried to sign in with another Apple ID from a friend. Even than it was not possible to download music.


The funny thing is, that there is no problem in downloading music with my iPad 2 (iOS 6.0.2) or with the iPad Mini of my wife (iOS 6.0.2).


The same problem like iTunes occurs with Podcasts. The won't load onto my iPhone.

But it is possible to download Apps from the Appstore.


Another thing is, that it is even not possible to sync music to my iPhone by using iTunes.

It begins to start syncing, I can see the blue line wich indicates that iTunes will sync 5GB of music to my phone, but it finishs a minute later with not syncing music and without any message or hint that there might be a problem.

Problem solved!


I've resetted the iPhone.

After that I've set up the iPhone complete new - no restore from any iCloud or iTunes Backup. Now I've had a virgin new iPhone. At the settings for the AppStore and iTunesStore I've signed in with the iTunesStore ID wich is different from my iCloud ID.


Now I've checked what happenend if I try to download a music title - It works!

After that I got back to the settings an signed my iCloud ID in the iCloud settings. I've activated iCloud Backup and iMessage.


The only thing wich was a little bit more to work, was the download of all my apps again to the iPhone.

It tooks me a while, but finally it works an I can now download podcasts an music!
