Are Sony HD camcoders compatible with this software? Just bought Sony HDR-AX2000 and am having trouble syncing the two. Any help PLEASE!

FCE compatibility is codec-specific, not brand-specific. Sony makes many different camcorders that support different video codecs.

The HDR-AX2000 is an AVCHD camcorder. You need an Intel Mac and FCE v4 or the new Final Cut Pro X to import & edit AVCHD material.

FCE HD 3.5 only supported DV and HDV video. If you are constrained to FCE HD 3.5 and/or have a PPC Mac then you will need some additional converter (such as MPEG Streamclip or Clipwrap) to convert your AVCHD clips to Quicktime/Apple Intermediate Codec before you import them into FCE 3.5. Also, in FCE HD 3.5 use one of the HDV easy setups that corresponds to the frame size/rate at which you shot your footage.
