PowerMac G3 No Log in Screen after Upgrade

I have a (Blue & White) PowerMac G3 that was running OS X Tiger 10.4.6. I upgraded to 10.4.11 (through the updater) and now when I boot, the gray screen with the Apple Logo shows up and then the gray gear turns on the bottom. After that I get the 'Loading Mac OS X' screen, followed by a blue screen and a turning gear. After that no login window appears and my curser shows up. I have no idea what to do, and can't boot from a CD/DVD. Please help.

It seems there was some Disc Corruption before or during install.

Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...

/sbin/fsck -fy

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.

(Space between fsck AND -fy important).

Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

See if it'll Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.
