how do I download kindle books to my iPad with the kindle app?

Apple changed the rules, so amazon cannot sell books thru the app without paying a toll. But do not despair. Simply go to amazon .com in safari, and buy your book. If you have bought the app, and registered the pad with amazon, the next time you fire up the app, it will load. It actually works pretty well.

To make it even easier, when you get to the amazon search screen, save the safari page to your home screen as an icon. Put both the app, and the search screen into the same folder, and you have all of your amazon stuff in one place, easy to use.

I don't know when that changed because I have been using amazon to buy books on my iphone as far back as a couple of months ago without going through Safari.I was pretty irritated this morning when I went to buy another book for the kindle app through Amazon and couldn't. I've had an Amazon account for many years. When I registered the Kindle app on my iPad mini, the app created a new email (account?) for me. Does the Kindle app have to be registered using the same email/account as my Amazon account? I have bought a Kindle document from the Amazon.ca site, but I don't know how to "see" it from my Kindle app.

You can still buy Kindle books through the Amazon website, and make the book download automatically on your iOS device. I've had no problems.
