Is there a keyboard shortcut to add .com?

I'm coming from the Windows platform, and this little thing has been bothering me for weeks. I've tried searching out an answer and tried various things to no avail.

In web browsers running on Windows, I could type something into the address bar and quickly add ".com" to the end by pressing CTRL-ENTER (similarly, CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER could be used to add ".org" to the end).

Is there a similar shorcut in Lion? (I know this is done automatically for sites I've visited before, but that doesn't seem to be the case for new sites.)

As mentioned in my question, this does not seem to be the case with sites I have not visited on my Mac before. Try typing the name of a site you have never visited before, like "blacksheepbikes" for instance. Can you just press ENTER on your Mac and have it automatically add the .com?

Mine doesn't. It takes me to Google search results instead.
