Can I upload photos from iPad to Facebook?

In the Facebook app for iPad, the status update has a Photo button (as it does on a computer) and it will ask you if you want to take a photo with the camera and upload that, or upload a photo that is already in the iPad's own Photos app.

Yes there is a Facebook app and you are supposed to be able to upload photos etc. But many report that the app sometimes crashes when trying to select a photo. Others have reported it and it crashes for me sometimes too. Don't expect miracles with the Facebook app.

What do you mean a couple of tries to get it to preform properly? Do you mean you restarted it multiple times and it worked at some point?

I am having the crashing issue, and if you know how to fix it that would be great!

I have tried to upload to FB from my library using the FB app but when I select the photo, I am immediately returned to my iPads home page, missing the FB app completely! What am I doing wrong please?

You might not be doing anything wrong. If the Facebook app suddenly disappears and you end up back on the iPad, that sounds a lot like the Facebook app crashes mentioned earlier. It sounds like that's a Facebook bug for them fix...not your fault.

Sorry I don't have better advice...I only upload to Facebook from my MacBook Pro.

Yep, as Network 23 explained it is a problem with the Facebook app. It's been updated a few times and is getting better but it's still not perfect. I find the most difficulty when trying to upload a photo that has been cropped or enhanced using PhotoGene. Seems like the only work around I've found is to not try to upload those photos. Not a good solution!

I remember several months back being able to make new folders / albums and add photos to them. Since then, i have not tried to upload from iPad2 or iPhone3GS, just tried this week, interface is all different on fb. Can anyone explain how to make new albums and upload to them from photostream?

Sure....just download the Facebook app from the App Store......

I only talked about status updates in my earlier reply, but I just checked and you can also create and upload entire albums in the Facebook app for iPad. Or you can add photos to existing galleries.
