I am asuming that you are talking about .wav or .aiff files. yes you can load them into UltraBeat buy selecting sample at the bottom of the UB and then clicking on the little triangle in the top of the area that the sample button is and cllicking on load sample or you can load them into the EXS24 sampler. break out to manual on these two instruments and read up on how to do this. I'm sure it gives better instructions than i can.

From what I gather, while the Ultrabeat can play back samples, it's really meant more as a drum synthesizer (building your own percussion sounds). It can do both, but for strictly drum sample playback the EXS24 may be more up your alley.

Just what I heard though. Your mileage may vary, and if said mileage is better on the Ultrabeat, use that. If it's better on the EXS24, use that.

This might be a long-shot, as I have not tried that sample cd, but anyway..

Have you checked if the samples you are trying to load are 32 bit float? If so, you first have to convert each sample to 24bit fixed or 16 bit (whatever you prefer) in order to make use of the samples in Logic.

I recently had to do this with another sample CD. I used Steinberg Wavelab on PC for this as it supports batch conversion of samples. It might be possible on other programs also, of course.

Has anyone used the REMIX TOOLS cd and sequenced 808 909 etc beats?
i doubt im the furst to do this.

yes i've used almost all the REMIX TOOLS sounds not very impress with them though

I occasionally use few sounds from 808 909

yes but i just get it from the channel strip

or from EXS24, in terms of importing it into UB i'm not sure how
