LION upgrade is causing me greif !

I hope someone can help me out of a jam. I have an iMac running Office : Mac 2008. I upgraded to OS X LION a couple days ago and am now unable to SAVE SOME of my Excel spreadsheets. Oddly enough, the majority CAN be saved but some vitally important files are now being seen as READ-ONLY and thus when I revise them they will not SAVE. I have NEVER created a read-only file in my life so have no idea where this is coming from. Any suggestions ?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

We had similar difficulties.

Switched back to Snow Leopard. Everything is working perfectly now.
