How can I get my music onto my iphone 4S

I hae just purchased an iphone 4s and can't seem to transfer my music from my computer to it. Never had this problem with my old iphone 2. Most of my music is CDs which I have transferred to itunes on my home computer (an imac, still running leopard) when I open the music folder on the iphone 4s it just says I have no content and have to purchase music from itunes. There is no ipod folder on the new iphone 4S like on my iphone. I really want to get my music as I have some great stuff and don't want to purchase it all again from itunes.

The iPod app is now called "music".

Is Apple ID set up on your phone and is your Mac still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?

Can you select the music in the music pane in iTunes, or is it grayed out?

Any restrictions set in Settings/General/Restrictions?

Thanks. It is good to know that the ipod app is now called music. I went into Settings/General/Restrictions and found that for some reason the "manual" box had been checked - unchecked this and "bingo" I now have my music. Thanks for your help - things change so quickly in the world of IT, and there are so many places to look when trying to set up things.
