2.5" external HD via Time Capsule USB not working

Hi guys,

I’ve been using an external USB 2.5" hard drive (Spinpoint M7/Onnto case) for my Time Machine backups.

When I try to run that drive from the USB port of my new Time Capsule (4th gen.), it won’t spin up.

A search didn’t turn up complaints about the TC’s USB port not delivering enough juice for a small external HD, so I wonder if I have a faulty unit.
