Files are just popping up for no reason.

Everytime I open a file, all files from that application pops up as well. Is there a bug somewhere or have I messed the options up

You're describing the Resume 'feature' of lion, where windows of apps you had open at the time of shut down are re-opened either when you boot up, or, when you next launch that particular App.

Frustrating, isn't it?

You can go sys pref> general and uncheck the box ''restore windows when reopening apps'' and also when you shut down, uncheck the box saying ''Reopen windows when logging back in''. This box defaults to checked, and is a nuisance.
